Chicago O’Hare Christmas
It is Feiday and I am in Chicago for a Microsoft Services team meeting. The temperature is colder then hell with wind chill of stay away from Chicago. Now I could have dialed into the OCS meeting.
But when Anna heard about the meeting she said I should go. To meet my teammates? Be seen in person? No. To pick her up popcorn. I know what kind of lady sends her man out the door two weeks before Christmas to drive around Chicago fly a total of 3000 miles just to bring her popcorn?
Is this a joke? No. I sent her on a Disney Mon’s Panel weekend to Chicago and she loved this stuff. I worked here in the vacinity well Milwaukee and Minneapolis and never heard of the stuff. Spent a year here in the worlds greatest Navy and never heard of it.
She comes out here once and on our two other trips to Chicago this year with Anna during my two weeks at Naval Station Great Lakes with the USNSCC - she hung out with Disney Mom’s Panel moms - and our cross country summer drive, she got more of this popcorn.
I don’t know where to get Garett’s Popcorn except at the Navy Pier which I also never visited while on active duty.
I ask Anna and she tells me to go Whiskey Tango Foxtrot or something I could not hear over the throng and noises of Friday Chicago trsvellers.
She then sends this to her tweeple -
beautygirlsmom: Someone needs to msg @storpappa for directions to @garrettpopcorn at ORD - he’s lost and not allowed to come home without it and included my cell phone number
I know dear readers why would me your poor narrator be subjected to such tortures? Well since we know that I am here for a bit of the old ____ and to see all those _____ - Clockwiork Orange fans, and who isn’t, will fill in the missing words and smile.
So this is how I roll
