Herff Jones more piss poor customer service
Last year it was the constant post cards and letters at home and the bullshit at Bishop Eustace shilling junior school rings. This year its a constant wave of post cards and letters and home and bullshit marketing at Bishop Eustace Prep School to sell senior portraits. Now Herff Jones in our local area is run by some used car salesperson trained in the 1950’s - he thinks kids think school rings are hip and in demand everywhere. I mean, of course givena choice on how to spend $600, most of America would avoid the cell phone, Zune or iPod, clothing, gold or silver jewelery, and instead opt for a concept right out of the age of sock hops and black and white radio.
This calendar year, they took really shitty pictures of our daughter for senior portraits. We said no way, and went to Glamour Shots and had some really nice pictures taken - everyone loves them. But in their effort to make every penny of profit they can, the school and its deep in its back pocket vendor Hewrff Jones will not accept outside pictures. Why? They could say consistency. They could say rolayties, rights or copyright. They could say policy. It comes down to one simple thing - www.herffjones.com just wants to make a profit on selling their school yearbooks. And one way to make a profit is to keep costs low. And you keep costs low by highering crappy photographers. And by not having to add additional outside pictures to your system. Its all digital and scanned anyway. But no, its too much trouble. How about charge me an extra $5 to bring in an outside picture? No, because that will cut into the guaranteed profit margin we offered the above crappy photographer for their work assignments.
800-724-6440 needs to grat another phone call to find out why once again when I have asked repeatedly to not be on their mailing lists, I am getting more mail from them. The last time I made it pretty clear - I don’t give a crap if the mail is telling me I won a new or used anything from you - do not send it to me. Period. But fo course it seems apparent that Herff Jones and the fine folks at photocustomerservice@herffjones.com don’t give a shit about the enviornment, customer wishes or just plain common sense. They just want to shill services and increase markup on their yearbooks.
Does any school bid out their yearbooks anymore? In this age of digital publishing, why are large outfits such as Herff Jones still in control of these markets? Where are the competitors to Herff Jones, and how are they doing in kicking this dinosaur out of its accounts?
BTW if some customer service rep from Herff Jones wants to reply to your continued screw up on my opt out requst, the latest codes are Year 09 School#48 and Sitting #4811619. Now this is odd, the bottom says 3/518 - did you people dump 518 of these pieces of trash on the local landfills today?

comany over at West Deptford
Do you mean West Deptford High School? Did you pick the company or did they win a bid for being the cheapest? If you didn’t like your kids pictures, could you use your own, or did the school board not care what you think and tell you to take it or leave it? After all they only get paid from your tax dollars, why should they care what you think?
Cheaper then the local photog by a long shot.
Care to tell us where you shopped around? Who did you check with? Did you compare packages or just sitting fees? Do you think the local studios know what they are competing against and don’t bother to adjust their prices? If you so loved your kids pictures, why did you shop around to other places? Just to waste their time and yours?
Why would you take your daughter to a glamor stuio for photos anyway - and then expect a catholic school to use them in their yearbook. Grow up - do you have a job?
Yes, I do. Thats why I pay extra for a better education and a better environment. And I expect them to be more cooperative then someone who has a union secured job for life getting paid off of the public payroll as a public school educator. Thanks for the insult, and yes I do have a job.
Why, because this is the United States of America, and I look out for personal freedoms.

Hey, why don’t you post my entire message? Typo’s flagged my message; you’re a chicken sh….
Freedom of speech in your world means only your words count. If you open the door for comments from readers, at least post all of the comments and not edit them. People who do that usually can’t stand the scrutiny or criticism. Psychologists have a classification for folks like you; you crave attention but can’t stand to be citizen. I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t drive a BMW and have a very little penis. Generally it is a package deal.
As for the school board not caring what I, or anyone else has to say you don’t seem to understand our form of government. We live in a republic not a democracy like you and most people think. In a republic we elect officials to represent us. If we don’t like the way they run things we can vote them out of office. You seem to think that school boards (other elected officials?) must listen to every one of their constituents and only do what they want. That’s impossible since even people like you are allowed to have a point of view and opinion. Any elected official would have a difficult time doing what you happen to think should be done and also follow the instructions from everyone else in the community.
Hopefully your daughter’s private education provided by underpaid faculty will provide her a better education then you seem to have gotten.
By the way, in looking over the rest of your site I noticed that you have scanned and used professional portraits taken on board a Princess cruise ship (they use the same back grounds on all of their ships). When you purchased the prints – what did you pay for them? Did you also purchase the copyright release? They still own the copyright – it’s like buying a book (I assume you know what a book is) and then make copies to pass out to friends, it is illegal. Check up on copyright laws! An education is a wonderful thing, too bad you missed out.
Wonder what the odds are of you posting this email Mr. Free Speech? More typo’s I’m sure!!! None of my friends will bet against a sure thing.
