Sandworms of Dune review
I only know Dune from the movie. The original which I really enjoyed. I saw the Sci-Fi channel remake and did not get it. I don’t know if it was more accurate or not, I just didn’t get it. And I know Dune was written by Kevin Anderson who wrote the series I really enjoyed, The Sage of the Seven Suns. I need to finish that series also. I think I left it at book 3 or 4, not sure.
Anyway, apparently Sandworms of Dune is the end of the Dune series. And apparently some people are saying that Frank Herbert is dead. All news to me, and I have not researched it, so I am not sure if it is true or not. It is on the dedication page of the book, but hey, its a work of fiction - any books have goofy or humorous dedications in them.
I enjoyed the story, it held me attention while I was suffering through Drizzt withdrawls for a week. Darn lack of brining enough books with me to read - finish them to fast, find myself trolling the airport for anything, and pick up Sandworms of Dune.
If you saw the movie, pick up this in paperback. It will sell you on Kevin Anderson, which will get you into The Saga of the Seven Suns. It might get you into other Dune books, but who knows what that looks like. Which comes first, is there a timeline, multiple authors, who is dead, etc….
