I am waiting in Charlotte at gate D7 for USAirways flight 1586 scheduled to depart at 10:25 PM. As I write this, its 9:17 PM, passengers are walking out of gate D7 and there is an announcement for passengers from my USAirways flight 1028 from Minneapolis to return to gate B1 to claim luggage.

We boarded with no problems. As usual, the plane used for this flight uses the doors at row 7/8 rather then 1. This means an upgrade to First Class puts you behind a lot of people to get off the airplane. It would be nice to not get an upgrade on this segment to be able to get off the plane quicker. Then you realize that a bottle of water or a cup of coffee is no longer complimentary, a few rows is no big deal.

The flight attendant is a shorter women, who is friendly and attentive. At one point, she comes by with two bottles of water, seeing how quickly I chug them down.

Snacks - as usualy, I grabbed a bag of Sun Chips.

We landed in Philadelphia, and as usual for PHL this late at night, we got right to a gate. C26, all the way at the end, so a nice walk through the airport to get out to the car ride home.

Now why theses? I heard a joke on the satellite radio about “Where are all the hot flight attendants? Last flight the person had a hump” While I have yet to see anyone that is cover girl gorgeous, I figured I would make note of warm faces and friendly service in the sky. When someone actually tells me their name, I will be sure to point that out.
