Age of Conan - will it be the WoW killer? Or just another large scale, great MMO? People churn through WoW by the tens of thousands every month, but the pool of players stays huge. Now with the release of Age of Conan, we have another current generation MMO playing on high speed servers and broadband connections with outstanding graphics and sound. Gameplay and adventure is up to current par.
Where ever Age of Conan goes, it is worth the time to put your other subscriptions on hold, get a copy and spend a few months playing. Remember, you have fun playing the game, not just leveling up. Spend some time and enjoy the entry level quests. Make a group of the different starting options and focus on having fun, not just on racing to the end game. If you have an end game toon in any other MMO you know how it makes the game different and less challenging to bring up the next one. You have too much junk to hand down, and miss out on the adventure and the fun. Isn’t that what we want out of our gaming time?
On a personal note, IMHO - its sad that people are already advertising to buy and sell in Age of Conan. Just play the game as a game for the fun of it. You can’t buy a power up for having fun with your family by taking a nice summer walk at the park. Don’t think a few extra coins or potions or levels will make you happy.
I loved playing AC, AO and many others. DAoC was much better when our oldest played the game with me. WoW was the best because 4 of us in the house all played it. The next best MMO for me is the one all 5 of us can do together. Of course with the youngest being 3, I have a few years to wait.
