Brian Valentine, Senior Vice President of Windows Division was always one to step into the nonesense at work and ask people what the hell kind of nonesense are they doing?

This week we had someone send an email out to a large DL with the message subscribe and their signature file.

I responded to them directly telling them to go to the web page to join DL’s, and warned them of a major slam of email coming their way. In the next hour we received several preachers replying all to tell this person they should not send emails to large DL’s. Then of course that was followed by others replying all telling others not to reply all to emails.

After the 4th or 5th email, I thought about brianv. He was a great leader, motivational speaker, and someone I loved getting my customers in front of. I remeber the conversation about what developer has the big swinging stick in your organization? It was awesome and remembered for years. It drove change in that customer as soon as they got back to the office.

Anyway, in related tails, when I had a mustache and gottie - how do you spell that word? and walked around campus wearing a baseball cap, people told me I looked like him. Not sure how accurate that was as a statement. I was fat, the cap covered my head, and hid my face, and I had the facial hair. So yes, I looked like a fat man with a baseball cap you could not see. And he was so respected for being always around, people would assume it was him. I hope he is doing as well and not pulling punches where ever he is working now.
