How to find friends on DIGG - part I

How to find friends on DIGG.com

Finding a social network on the social networking site DIGG requires some effort and thought. Just click on a few hundred random people as fans and troll for friends will get you nothing. People will un friend you, topics not in their area of interest will be buried, and your blog will not get any traffic, attention, readers or comments. In short, don’t beĀ  dick trolling for friends like a spam bot.

How do you find them? Write your blog, see who digg’s it by examining your profile. When you look at your entries, see who also dugg your entries. Check out THEIR profiles, and see if they have something in common with you. Check out THEIR blogs, read their posts, read the submissions they have dugg.

And if you have a match, add them as a friend. And walk away

Continue to monitor your friends activity, see if they continue to comment on, digg or submit content you enjoy. And comment on it, digg it yourself, or blog about it, giving them a track back and full credit.

And walk away.

Repeat this and see what springs out from it.

But don’t be an aggressive troll with shouts, comments of YEAH, WOOT, LOL, or worse, kid speak or geek speak with w00t. Now I know the guy who owns w00t radio. I am sure he would like the plug.

Is this the only way to do it? Will this get you hundreds of fans overnight? Hell no. It will help you find people you actually want to engage in conversation with using an online forum. If you want a guide on how to whore out for friends, you will not find it here.
