Wind sprints - do I stink or stink big time?

wind sprints on a basketball court

Spent last night at the Seattle Downtown YMCA. Great facility, friendly staff. I booked personal trainer sessions before coming to Seattle for the week. Last night was my first session. The trainer is friendly and great to work out with. I arrived in my Under Armor, and miscounted on a few things I take for granted from the Milwaukee Downtown YMCA:

  • locker keys with the free lockers - I did not bring a lock so I had to stuff my stuff in my jacket sleeve
  • track - the Milwaukee downtown YMCA is 6 laps to a mile, the Seattle is 19. Not the type of track to do a 3 mile timed run on without getting dizzy and passing out or getting sick
  • water bottles - I bring bottled water from the hotel, and it is for sale at the desk as you walk in in Milwaukee, and at our gym at home, Royal Fitness. It is on a different floor in Seattle.
  • Under Armor is hot - way to hot to do wind sprints in. By the second round I was ready to fall to my knees

Now as for my score. I first wind sprint took 33 seconds, the second 45, changed out of the Under Armor and the third took 33 seconds. She asked me to try and beat 30 seconds. Just how much does that score stink?

The sprints were touching the floor in 4 steps

  1. end of court to foul line and back
  2. end of court to center court and back
  3. end of court to opposite foul line and back
  4. end of court to opposite end of court and back

How crappy was my score? The YMCA PT is to nice to say they sucked big time maggot. Well, back to the gym - with a lock and a bottle of water.
