Another SPAM App on Facebook
Yet another SPAM Application on Facebook. Today it was an invitation to check out Which American Accent Do You Have? You do a simple quiz, and at the end of answering a deck of questions, the application informs you that you must invite 10 of your friends to the application BEFORE it will give you your results.
As a business model, this would be the same as walking into a restaurant, sitting down and ordering food. Then after waiting for it to cook, the waiter shows up with a covered dish, and hands you computer and tells you to email all your friends and tell them how great the food is at the restaurant. And if you email 10 friends, then they will put the plate down on your table for you to eat.
In other words - it is a stupid business model that is insulting to any intelligent user of Facebook. Why do people write these apps? Because they think the few pennies they can ilk from ads make it worth doing shit business. I feel sorry for some of these people that these ultra slim margins make a difference that this is their business model.
Or there really are a ton of people who will refer 10 friends, then click on the follow-up ads and generate the quiz maker some revenue. If they just make more quizzes that are of value and fun, they would get repeat traffic. That is why I put ou Fox News on my TV as soon as I turn it on. I know the previous great content brings me back. I don’t check on what the lead story is before I go back - I go there.

This is what I hate most about Facebook. I get this every time I try to take a quiz or something, and I just won’t play this game.
