This is my third week staying at the Courtyard Marriott. The staff continues to be warm and friendly, and some of them continue to remember myself from previous visits. I have met a few other business travelers who are the same boat as me. Why bother staying at the Residence Inn Downtown Milwaukee? I do not use the kitchen, I do not stay here all week, and staying at a Courtyard gets you double the Marriott Rewards points. It is a much better deal for a business traveler at the Courtyard Marriott 300 W Michigan St, Milwaukee WI 53203.

This week I am in room 425, once again the very nice view of the buildings across the street, and the small park with lighted trees. This week we once again had snow, and the view of the city streets and the park definitely make being on the Michigan Street side of the building the better choice. Be sure to ask for it when you come to stay.

Any negatives yet? Yes, three of them. And the Courtyard took care of them all in style. So to keep this review real, here they are.

Toilet blocked - I thought this might have been because of the cold, when the toilet drained very slowly. When it got worse, I stopped downstairs and asked if someone could look at it. It was late, so they put it on the list for maintenance. It got worse, so I called down and they sent security up to fix it. Very nice security guard had a plunger, cleared the clog, and brought back towels and cleaner and made the bathroom shine better then when I walked into the room. A very positive response from the Courtyard staff

No hot water on Thursday morning - a pain in the ass traveler would blame this on the hotel. I chalk it up to the fact that it was -4 yes, minus 4 when I went to go shave. I broke the electric razor out of its box from Christmas, and skipped the razor today. The shower was also not hot, but it was still warm enough for a shower, so no problems there. Cold water in the faucet, not a problem in extreme winter weather, it happens.

The lounge is out of water - funny that the lounge refrigerator runs out of water, when the soda sits there untouched. Now someone should be checking this, but it is a nice thing that it is here. And this isn’t a Marriott with a full service concierge lounge. I went downstairs to buy a bottle of water, told the front desk, and they told me to just grab whatever from the snack room and take it. Way to nice service.

The Courtyard Marriott 300 W Michigan St, Milwaukee WI 53203 continues to be a great place to stay in Milwaukee.

What about the breakfast?  - I don’t eat it, so I cannot say. Maybe next week when Brighid is with me, we will hit breakfast if we have time and then do a review of the morning breakfast buffet.
