2007 Chevrolet Cobalt review - Hertz #1 Club Gold
The car of the day is the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt. With 18,824 miles, this car is getting a lot of use and rented out often. Now this is my second Cobalt rented from Hertz. I cannot say I rent the car. I order the cheapest thing on the menu, and take whatever they give me. But this is cheap. Manual windows, manual doors, no key lock alarm. Wow. How did they even consider making this car at the factory, let alone selling it to a rental car company. Is the frequency of problems with electric doors, electric windows or car alarms making it a benefit now?
I asked the local staff and they just shrugged and said they know. It is an often heard remark when someone drives way in one of these economy econo boxes. Good car, fine for a days rental. Having owned a Ford Escort years ago, my tastes in cars have certaintly changed. But if you need a reasonable car, this is certaintly something to look at. But I suspect for comfort and quality, you will want a Kia or other non Cobalt vehicle. Unless this is really that inexpensivly priced on the market.
