Mile High Intimacy Kit - $25

I travel a lot. In fact, every day of the week, for years. I have been to 4 continents, dozens of countries and hundreds of cities. I have never been to a hotel where the mini bar sells condoms, lube and vibrators. The Hotel Sax in Chicago, Illinois is a very nice hotel. It is adjacent to the House of Blues, and easy to get in and out of to the airport. When you walk in the door, you are met with this overwhelming smell of cologne. My wife described it as a convention of french whores. The front desk is decorated in an unusual design - a glass case with multiple shelves filled with bowels. One can only assume that they were filled with the perfume that got spilled on the entrance way carpeting.

Front desk staff was friendly and courteous. Getting on the elevator to our floor we had an interesting picture. On walking in we assumed it was nothing. After the smell and mini-bar, when we left on Sunday we assumed it was a whore posing. But to each his own.

The room was great, with a nice bathroom. One thing was surprising for a hotel of this class that the bathroom does not have a separate toilet closet.

The bed was large and comfortable. And the flat panel TV opposite the foot of the bed made for fine viewing if you were in bed watching TV. Or a porno. Now we called for turn down service before we went out to the club for the night. When we returned, besides the lobby perfume wall, we found turn down had come and placed a red silk scarf on the bedroom lamp. This was interesting, and something I never get from turn down. So if this did not put you in the mood, the mirror on the side of the bed that allows for not just dressing, but full visibility during various positions with your partner or partners. And thats when we noticed the mini bar had the Mile High Intimacy Kit, for $25. It contains a condom, a vibrator, and lube. I have been married for a long time, and we have three kids. I don’t need the condom. And as for the vibrator and the lube, I had my wife away for the night in a hotel without the kids. She was ready to go.

I have the sheet from the hotel book in front of me, and under sodas, liquor and candy bars it says Mile High Intimacy Kit $25. It was too funny for us. I guess if you are in Chicago, and pick up a slut or a whore and need a place for a quickie, you do not want to spoil the mood by having to run down to the hotel gift shop for condoms. Instead, come to the Hotel Sax.

Pricing - our rate for a Saturday night was $150 plus taxes.

Meals - The room service late night snack we ordered was weird. It was a cheese plate, soup and I think a sandwich. The cheeses were odd, and had an usual fruit on them. Everything was tasty, just out of the normal. Maybe when you are banging someone looking at yourself in the bedroom mirror, you need funky cheese snacks.

Breakfast was just as odd. We ordered off the room door menu, and got one order of eggs, scrambled with sausage and orange juice and tea. We also selected the fruit plate. Lastly, I wrote on the ticket asking for a side order of corned beef hash if they had it. We got a ton of fruit. It was shame we did not have a box to take it to snack on at the airport. As for the hash, they sent up an order of eggs, chopped meat, potatoes and hash on a full size meal plate. The front desk corrected the room service charge.

Service was great, the Hotel Sax is very convenient to go clubbing in downtown Chicago. And apparently if you get lucky, its also a great place to spend the night. Just be sure to order turn down service so you get the red scarf covered lamp shades.
