KND Final Mission
The KND Kids Next Door Final Mission was on tonight after a KND marathon. I called home for Eilis to watch it from home at the same time as me, and after the first break. The adults speaking and then the cartoon thing did not sink in on her, and since I was not there to watch it with her, she went and did something else. Shame, because it was a really great episode. The writing on KND has always put in great content for adult and kid cartoon watchers.
The premise was that the kids have grown up, and do to a discovery, have been recommissioned to answer questions about their final mission. The big mission of course involves a birthday party for the delightful children down the lane. While trying to get the birthday cake, agent 79.223rd, a science nerd, seems to have stolen the birthday cake and organized a scavenger hunt. We get to see a collection of all the past villains while they go on a scavenger hunt.
In the continued tribute to Better Off Dead, we get the two Asian announces in their Howard Cosell impersonations giving play by play on the contest.
The initial short interviews and cartoon pattern turned into 10 minute cartoon stories that were very entertaining and had a series of exciting twists and laughs. Not one to give away the ending, I will say that we do get to see Father turn into an even larger fire breathing creature then before. To all fans of KND, this is a must see episode. Be sure to catch it next time it is on, or on demand.

It’s been a few days, so save to throw out some interesting scenes. I enjoined them reeducating Numbuh Zero (Nigel’s Dad) to say goodbye, and liked the shock of seeing his mom as a former agent also, Numbuh 999. It was nice from a kids perspective that he didn’t have to go away without saying goodbye, and that he wanted to say goodbye. It is one of those snuck in morals - family is important. And from an adult perspective that reminder that we did cool stuff as kids that we sometimes just forget about as we grow up.
