Free furniture in Southern NJ
We have some furniture and small household appliances we are trying to give away. All someone has to do is come and get them. Not in a difficult location, but right off of the New Jersey Turnpike, I-42, I-295, and the Walt Whitman Bridge. We have a queen size bedroom set, which includes the metal framed headboard and footboard. In new jersey, you cannot give away a mattress unless it is cleaned. Now we did try and sell the bed for $100 with the mattress and cleaning, but got no takers. So it looks like that has to go to the dump. Which is ashamed. It is 2 years old, pillow top, of excellent quality and condition. But I cannot give it to someone for free and hand them $100 for cleaning. Who knows if it will ever be done.
Also available are a number of small kitchen appliances, including a George foreman type small grill, about 10″ square, a bread machine, and a rice cooker.
So why not give them to the church? Sacred Heart in Camden, NJ is always our first choice, but they don’t have any need or someone to come pick stuff up. When I called them, I also had a dining room set and a living room set. The dining room set is gone, but the living room set is still here. I’d gladly sell it for a few bucks, but at this point, we are going to put it in the Florida room not by design or plan but by lack of choice. I am not throwing a fine piece of furniture out to the curb. The idea sickens be too much.
What about the Vietnam veterans? They only take stuff one person can carry, no furniture or bedding items.
What about free cycle? My wife applied last week and I did today, to two different groups in our area, but have not heard back. Seems free cycle requires the moderators to pre approved you to be able to post. Shame, since the risk of ads on a forum such a Yahoo offsets our ability to make someone available to help others. Maybe they should move to a better forum then just Yahoo. Which is ad driven anyway but lacks a lot of the ad controls of all the major forum programs.
So, in the need for anything? Let me know.
Have any other route to take instead of the curb? Please let me know.

Rachel,
The dining is gone, as are the lamps. The bedroom is gone, and so is the desk in that room. All the kitchen small appliances are gone. In the living room, the only thing left is the sofa and chair, and 1 table. Those got moved out to the Florida room. I think Anna is leaving them there, but not sure if it is temporary or permanent.
