Jeep Liberty auto review
We had a Blue Jeep Liberty 4 door forĀ weekend getaway trip to Florida. Now this was the 4th car AVIS offered us. The first was a Kia or some other small car for 2 people, then a car that was not there, then a Lincoln MKZ which does not hold a stroller and a single large suitcase in the trunk. Then they gave us the Jeep Liberty. Nice car, held the 4 of us and our luggage. The weekly rental rate was 177.50, which with the free 2 day weekend coupon and taxes came to $166.38.
AVIS just does not do a consistent good job on upgrades and what they mean. And going to a place such as the Orlando Airport (MCO), you would expect ever option that AVIS has to offer. Especially since I rent from them every week and they keep throwing coupons at me all the time for free 2 day rentals. On the weekend. Which muct mean that the bulk of their fleet is idle. So the service expectation is at least for what I get on the weekdays.
Would I buy a Jeep Liberty? Yes if we did not have 3 kids or kids still using a stroller. The seating is fine for 4 and has a stiff SUV ride to it with fine handling for everyday city and highway driving. But the storage space is not there for more then a few things. Can you take it on a long trip? Not if you need to bring a coach type stroller. You can throw in an umbrella stroller and do all your packing in soft luggage. But travelling with a wheelchair, which we have done for two of our parents, and stroller, back space is certaintly something to consider seriously.
