We finished a sale of one of our domains this past week. GameGeekSpeak.com has a new owner and a new look and feel. The important part, my wife has her money, the domain name is transferred and all the website bits and transferred. I so need to do work and family and education. Gaming is just not geeting any attention on my radar for the next 3 months. In fact, I just dropped an end of the year farewell to the community, and I’ll share it here for you to read. Any more web site projects in my future? I have a deck of domains we won, but none of them have anything on them currently worth mentioning, and I don’t see them on the radar. A lot of work to spin it up and make $30/month or sell it in a year for a few bucks just doesn’t seem possible with my current work and family schedule.

As many of you now, I have been swamped with work, family and the gym. I am glad someone has stepped up to Admin things around here at gamegeekspeak.com. So I will be stepping down and saying my see you laters to you. I have invited many of you to facebook a few weeks back. If you have an invite, be sure to look me up to stay in touch.

I want to wish MrB success with the community. I just have been too busy with things. I do not have any active MMO subscriptions, have stuff waiting to be emailed and mailed out, and heck - do I still have a console in my house somewhere?

For that matter, where is my house these days? With 3, 4 or 5 nights a week in hotels for the year, I spend more time with my wife on the weekends taking her on a date with her kids, then sitting around the house being the typical lazy husband.

So as the year winds down, I am on several weeks vacation. And I need to start planning the next 3 months of travel between airfare, hotel and rental cars.

I have finished another MVP Academy, signups for the next cycle are starting, and I need to finish off my current LOMA course and pass the exam. THEN register for the next course.

    Hello Jim :)
I would like to talk with you and learn a bit from you if possible. We spoke a long time ago and I didn’t ask a few questions that I wanted to because it felt like prying. Now that GGS isn’t in the way, maybe I can ask about running a root server from home VS. renting a root or virtual root server. I am looking for a server to run a small, low volume web/forum and TS server. Not many people actually use either and I would think the volume of traffic to be less than 10GB/mo which seems to be had for less than $30 a month. Not sure. I am also not sure if I can handle that kind of traffic using a home cable network (or DSL).
Anyway, I really hope your family is doing well, and that you will someday get to spend more time with them. You left a cell # with my wife, which she promptly lost so I can’t call you on that. lol
Be Safe :) and I will talk with you soon,
    Larry
