Screams, panic, emergency!

Around 5 AM our oldest, who shall remain nameless to protect the goofy (See her blog here -> http://skamarakas.com/brighid ) comes into the bedroom with the dog. Or The dog came in before her. Either way, Rosie wanted me to pet her for a it. She left with Brighid, I mean the oldest kid. Then they came back a few minutes later, stayed for a minute then left. A few minutes passes.

Goofy bursts into the bedroom screaming “Daddy, the dog put a pine cone in her mouth, I tried to take it from her, now she has diarrhia and the downstairs toilet is flooded!”

So as I stare at her wondering if she got bit she yells “the downstairs is flooding I dont know what to do!”

Is it just me or does the concept of I don’t know, STOP the water coming INTO the house seem like a first step? Toilets are not that ultra secret of a device. The part stuff goes in and out from and you sit own. You know, the bowl. And behind it is a very complicated device with no electronics or anything different for decades or is it over a hundred years? You know, the tank. And behind this is a small hose with a handle, you know - a valve.

She has been taught the reminder for how to handle a valve - righty tighty, left lucy

Now I am not sure if Lucielle VanPelt was right handed or a southpaw. She did go into Psychiatry and was an abrassive personality, very Type A, open and always in charge of things. Certaintly not the type of girl who sat in the background quietly. But was she good at math? Are left handers good at math? Can left handers do anything better other then shoot because of the gun placement in comparison to their hearts for steadying the rifle or shotgun?

Her mom tells her to get the dog outside. and I came downstairs, lifted the lid, stopped the water. Had her clean out the bowl, and I used a plunger. We poured in some drain cleaner, and I flushed the toilet a few times. All cleaned out. Her and her mom took care of the carpet and the water leaking. And I sit here in my chair writing this wondering what sort of spaz reaction would have happened on a day when I wasn’t home? Oh yes, I walked in my front door 5 hours earlier.
