EVE - Nighthawk > Cerberus > Drake

I am in my Drake, and on my way to the Nighthawk, I can fly a Cerberus in a matter of a few hours. Does anyone know if this is true? Nighthawk ? Cerberus > Drake ? I am thinking of going out and buying and fitting a Cerberus to use while I wait for the Nighthawk to open up in another few weeks. I will buy the Cerberus regardless. But does anyone have any experience on the HAC > BC or not?

EVE Online is all about pilot skills and not just the ship. A trained pilot in a Tech II Frigate or a Tech I cruiser can take out an idiot in a Battleship. The BB idiot will fit all the wrong weapons, never hit the other pilot and get needled to death. It happens and people laugh and scream ebay or other such phrases at the noob capsuler pilot. One of the reasons I preach the benefits of destroyers before cruisers.

  1. Cerberus would be better than your Drake in most situations, only if you have the skills to back it up.. basically you want to be able to use tech II everything or there is no point, stick with the Drake. I have just gotten into a Nighthawk myself (last night) and it is an AMAZING ship.. but it is wasted unless all your support skills are up to scratch..

Also consider your purposes.. a Drake is a better mission runner than a Cerberus, but for pvp a Cerb with a microwarp drive and a full rack of heavy assault missiles can be a punishing adversary.. I’ve killed tech I cruisers in under 10 seconds in my cerb.. the Nighthawk I’m expecting to be much faster :P
It sounds like you’ve got the idea, as far as which ships are better, but dont rush.. Take the time to train up missile, shiled, and cap skills first, or else it will be an expensive experiement :)
Good luck, fly safe (look me up in game if you want to chat about the fine Caldari tech II ships)
