Day 13 - Tuesday K play day
Today is Eilis’ last last day of Kindergarten and the school play. She got up, washed, hair combed, teeth brushed and was ready to go by 6:45 AM. A bit earlier then usual and she was very excited to go deliver her telgram.
Brekafast was cereal, juice and those mini bagels again. The baby and I waited in the car till after 9 to go inside. Anna’s mother and step father and Anna were already inside. The play was great - funny that a school play would be better then the horrible experience on Sunday with Mainstage.
Anna went to work, Eilis went home with Anna’s parent’s, and Granuaile and I went home. They watched her for a little bit while I ran to the plumbling supply house and then the garden center. At the plumbling supply house I got the brass divertor for the new single valve shower. Tub surrounds had 2 options in stock. The one I really liked at Lowe’s they could order, but did not have in stock - instead of a flat wall, it would have a tiel looking finish to it. Oh well, my buying was limited to what do you have in stock right now.
The tub surround can be installed with an existing tub over greenboard. We would have to put up new sheetrock. or it can be installed onto a new tub as a complete system directly to the studs. I opted for a new tub. Anna will be suprised. And just to make the bathroom brighter, I bought a brass finished two door glass shower door. I am no fan of shower doors on tubs. But every free standing shower has them. Since we never bath the dog in the shower, and Anna is not big on the girls getting baths. She puts them in the shower. So this eliminates the dark shower curtains, and hopefully will have the effect I want - make the room brighter and open.
They delivered all the wall across the street to our house.
At the garden center, I added to the existing 5 cubic yards of mulch and got 3 cubic yards of cedar bark mulch for underneath the newly stained swingset. And I picked out 10 flats of flowers. 3 red, 3 purple, 4 white. The are annuals, marigolds or red luscious or petunias. I am not sure. The girl at the counter corrected me when I called them by the wrong name, I said “hey my wife is out of town, i am just buying flowers - red, white and blue, or in this case, purple.”
Dinner was a bit hectic since Eilis went to her grandparents, and it was just the baby and me. I have been trying not very well to get any work done, plus I am continuing to clean up the garage, florida room and all the rooms inside the house. Trash day is Thursday and I have only one shot to get stuff out onto the curb Wednesday night. We grabbed Wendy’s. I had the chili and Granuaile had chicken and chocolate milk. The chanting afterwards was fun to see, and will get her another trip to Wendy’s before her mom comes home, I am sure.
