Breakfast was at McDonald’s. I wanted to send her back to school with a hot breakfast so I drove down to get the hot cakes and sausage. A few adjustments including her getting chocolate milk. She has a nice lunch pack includign peanut butter sandwhiches and snacks and drinks. No fancy cuts to the bread. In fact, she asked me not to cut it.

The baby and I went to Wegman’s to do our food shopping. We spent $80, got food for us for the week, along with a few treats and snacks. At ever isle she got very excited and started screaming bike bike bike bike. I want to take her to the store to get it, but that would prevent Anna from being involved or seeing her ride it for the first time. I just can’t bring myself to take that form her. If the ship sinks or the plane crashes, she will get the bike as soon as I get word of any tragedy. Otherwise, she waits till her mom gets home. We picked up a thing of chocolate milk for Eilis to have as snack one night, peaches, watermelon and a tray of sushi. A few treats for the three of us this week. Oh and a box of 100 calorie pack cookies.

The phone rang and the workers will be here tomorrow for the swing set and the upstairs bathroom. I called around and the dog is going to the kennel for a few days. I can’t have her anywhere near the swingset, and the noise in the bathroom will just get her excited. Better to get her out of the way - one less thing to worry about. The baby and I went to PetSmart in Barrington to get a new leash and harness. The dog managed to chew or rub the old harness off. And how we have a dog without a collar is a wonder to me. I will not gone down and beat that horse, I will not go down and beat that horse. Oh, pink of course, because Rosie is a girl dog.

We pick up Eilis, and head home to get the dog, then off to Lindenwold and Country Kennels. The vet faxed over the shot records already. The dog needs some nose vacine, but the kenel will take her without it. If she gets sick, I blame Anna for not getting it done when the dog was at the vet’s last time. It is good for a year, and she knew the dog was going to be kenneled over the summer when she goes back to Florida for Eilis’ summer camp. And over Christmas and our trips to Disney.

The dog is checked in, and is getting picked up on Saturday and groomed. So she comes home to us cleaner then we took her in. The noticed all the rough spots on her elbows and such. Good for them taking the time to check her over. I told them - big door, hard wood floors and a crate. They just nodded in understanding.

As we drove away I turned and asked the baby, “Where is Rosy” She looks at me with one of those “What are you stupid Dad, she is right here”, looks down on the floor like I am stupid and the big huge dog is right there where she was when we drove her TO the kennel. Then she sees the sog is NOT there, raises her arms and goe sinto a “Where’s Rosie?” dumb look on her face. I wish I had a picture of it. Then she starts looking behind her on the left and right and calling the dog. Funny that she was inside the kennel with us, left without the dog and never noticed. No tears of goodbye for that dog from this baby.

We got home, had dinner, got Eilis in for a shower, and then settled down for bed.
