Got a call from these clowns tonight. They are excempt from the National Do Not Call List, and like all other scum bag outfits, Wilkins Research chooses to ignore my listing on the DNC listing. Why? Because they do not have to. And that is the root of the problem with all of these scum bag businesses. I asked not to be called. You do not have to comply with the list. Why would I be anything less then uncooperative and as abusive to your staff as I can be? Your organization tells people that are on the DNC list to get bent, you have no concern for our requests NOT to be called. Wilkins Research, a bad business - Do not do business with them. DO take their calls and waste the time of their staff.

The FCC allows this because of politicl pressure from lobby groups. Thats the way politics works, good or bad. But now we have these people calling, not to sell things, but ask questions. They know about the DNC, and they know they do not have to use it. They do not care about your request, so they don’t care about you.

Thanks for providing this information, Jim! I was having a hard time identifying this phone # - all my caller ID would show was that it was from Chattanooga, TN, and I couldn’t pull it up in reverse directories. Thanks again!

  • Sue said,

Thanks for the heads-up on these guys.  Like you, I’m on the DNC list but apparently non-profits & companies conducting surveys have some kind of loop hole.  I’ll be sure to ignore this number & pass along the info.

  • Jennifer said,

These morons called us the other night during dinner. My husband asked for the callers phone number so we can call them back when our dinner is over and bother them during theirs. The guy on the phone was dumbfounded and my husband simply said to remove us from their calling list. We should be able to sue callers who do not comply with the Do Not Call list.

  • Just_somebody said,

    First, Thanks for the information.
I received two calls from these people within the an hour of one another.
Secondly, many people may not know this; but, as far as the DNC list there are some companies who can be opted out from not having to call you. These include your phone, cable, cell phone, etc, & etc. The reason behind this is because they do it to offer other services to their customers.
I know this from formerly working
    for such companies (SBC).
Lastly, sorry but, I do not give out my email address to people I do not know. Print this information; if you want in your blog.

Wile taking a nap my answering machine picked up.
I heard key strokes on a keyboard, and then what sounded like somone making the Raspberry sound. Then they hung up.
I *69′d the number to find out where this was coming from. Seems to be a marketing reserach company with nasty operators.

Please file a complaint to the National Do Not Call Registry

A gentleman introduced himself as a marketing research Co. When I immediately requested to be removed from the list he smugly replied, “No Sir.” and thanked me before hanging up. So Infuriated I had to find to find out who this rude telemarketer was. i found about 300 other people who also had terrible experiences with this company. Check out http://www.whocalled.us/lookup/4234905694#

I have been called by these people before. They will not remove your number from their list. Isn’t marketing research just a sneaky way of getting around the do not call list and selling your information to other companies? They really are telemarketers.

  • Jim said,

They really are the scum of the telemarketers. When the DNC went into effect many of them closed shop that day. These remaining are trying to think of every loop hole, including calling into the US from Canada or another country thanks to cheap telecommunications costs and digital VOIP

  • Linda said,

Have junk mail sent to them. Their address is Wilkins Research, 1730 Gunbarrel Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421

They will hear some inspirational pieces I can have sent along at no cost to me.

They are scum, so this will hurt.

  • Greg said,

Just called here and I googled the number and found this site. I accidentally entered their # instead of mine on the complaint site. The DO NOt Call registry has them as listed since Nov 17, 2007. So they have listed this number on the DNC list.

  • SMP1225 said,

I have received three calls this evening and very pissed, sorry I don’t give out my email, but this has got to be a Federal Communication Commission issue wouldn’t you think? So I have forwarded this number so when they call again they will reach our local police dispatch office. Have a happy holiday Wilkinson Research.
    Sincerley,
    A FCC employee.
P.S. Thank you for the comment it was recorded for further actions.

all you have to do is say nicely, i’m really not interested in participationg. then you are put on a ‘refused’ list, and wont get called back again. if you say ‘can’t right now’ or ‘oh i’m just walking out the door’ of course they are going to try back later. also if you choose to just ‘hang up’ or be rude .. naturally they are going to tune out your request and set you to be called back tomorow. grow up. being polite can get you a far way.

  • Jim said,

You cannot ask some of these people nicely - they give you the “We are exempt from the Do Not Call list”. There are exceptions to the DNC and it includes obviously politicians since they make the laws. But other organizations and activities are exempt - such as these people who say they are conducting a survey.

If they were polite they would check against the DNC and not call in the first place. The simple fact that they ignore the DNC, a voluntary opt in system tells you they do not care what you think. You are going to take their call.

  • dhw said,

I just called the main number listed above and asked to be removed from their calling list. The young lady that answered agreed to put me on their DNC list and was very polite. Lets see if it works.
