First day of new routine

Today starts the first day on our new gym routine. I am off vacation, the kids go back to school after next week, and my wife is back to reasonable health. She needs to go to the doctors next week for a release to do more then 5-10 lbs and mild limited walking, but she is up and about.

The schedule? My wife and I up at 5:15 and head down to the gym - Monday, Wednesday and Friday the weights, Tuesday and Thursday I can go myself for the treadmill. Then its back home, I get shaved and showered and out the door for work. She gets the oldest to school early, drops the middle one off on time, and comes home with the little one. In the afternoon, she picks up the middle one, then the older one late, then all 4 come back home. After getting changed, snacks, etc…, off to the gym where the two little ones go to the gym’s baby sitting / day care room. And the oldest and my wife do something - treadmill, a class, whatever. This also allows her mother in law to meet them and her cousin who also goes to the same gym. Sounds like a good plan.

Last night I go to bed early, 9:45. Get woken at 10 PM for the TV remote, and then she leaves the room. She comes back and wakes me at 11 PM then leaves the room. At 2AM, I wake up, she is asleep, and I am wide awake. I come down here, do work till 3:30, drink a few glasses of water, and go back to bed. Only not back to sleep. At 4, I have to chekc on the baby who made a news. At 5:15 the alarm finally goes off and my wife, who made the above referenced “plan” bails on me on Day 1 because she didn’t get to sleep till 2AM.

So the mystery of wht the hell woke me at 2AM is solved. I wake the oldest and drag her out of bed to go to the gym with me. She is not happy. We do th treadmill for 15, then she gtes the weight card and off we go. I do the leg routines, 1, 2, then wham the third starts to feel the burn. Off to the arm machines, 1, 2 and then BHAM the arm burn kicks in. 3rd I am doing 1 rep at 80, the 2nd at 40 and skip the next 2 reps. Next arm machine, I do 2 reps at 15 and skip the next 2 reps for underhand curls.

At this point, we are on the back press thing I dont know what they machines do anyway, and a lady comes up and tells my oldest she cannot wear flip flops to the gym. HAHAHA

We finish the back and then the last abdominal machine 2 reps of 15 overhand and 2 underhand. At this point, my oldest skips the stretching station and walks out. Seems she is mad a stranger, or a trainer or whatever told her no flipflops. “I was not on any machines and you can wear flip flops to go to yoga class” I remind her she did 15 minutes on the treadmill with me to start off, but she ignored that little fact. HAHAHA - I tell her all the time she should never wear flip flops.

Anyway, the gym was busy, lots of people carrying in work clothes in dry cleaner bags with them. I am off to shave and shower, eat some breakfast and get on the road.
