Threshold broken
I have gone from never going to the gym and calling our walks around the block and my long walks talking with our oldest or walking the dog exercise. After the first week that all became fun but no exercise once I started going to the gym and seeing progress on a display and on a paper chart.
I have gone from that first day doing 15 minutes up to my current record of 2.x to 3.0 mph on an aerobic course and gotten up to 200, then 225, 250, 275 and 300 calories burned in a work out. The other day I hit a big jump up and broke 450. And over the last few days I have gotten as close as 474.6 but not gotten over the 475 threshold.
Tonight I dropped speed from 3.1 down to 2.5 mph. And raised the incline to max. After a few steps of this, and as my heart rate went up, I brought the incline down step by step.
And tonight, I am happy to say, without any shin splints leg pain or anything. I did 556.9
Yes, the 475, 500, 525 and 550 marks all broken in a single night by working the machines ability to do inclines and still, yes still coming in with an average heart rate of 131. My target is 127 plus or minus 5 points.
