Tiecoon

Posted by Jim on June 6, 2006

Thanks to the lady working at Tiecoon in New York’s Penn Station who spent a few minutes going through her entire inventory to find a nice tie for my interview today. The one I had was picked out by my wife who said I needed some new ties. So she doesn’t know it yet, but will when I get home tonight. I walked off the train, and up to the tie shop. I asked the lady if she had a great tie to go with this shirt and suit for an interview today.

And she did. Took a while to find it, came down to me holding 4 finalists while she made the final choice.

Oh and of all things - she sold collar stays. And in a handy little plastic holding case. Wonder never cease, this is something I always need - more collar stays. For those of you who don’t know what I am talking about; they are the removable plastic tags that go inside the collars of your shirts. They come out so the shirt can get cleaned and pressed properly without leaving an outline. Trouble is you can never find them when you put your shirt on later. Now I have a little box of them to put in my valet box.
