Radio City Music Hall to Penn Station

Apparently it is hard to get away from Radio City Music Hall as it is to get to Carnegie Hall. I never find a cab stand let alone a cab. You can walk across the street and down to blocks to the Hilton, or is it the Hytatt, and get a cab to Penn Station while you listen to the guy bitching that he wanted to get an airport fair. He might as well spit at you.

So the choices are out the side door, turn right then left then two blocks and then down to a huge station with a very rich tunnel / platform area and a newstand. This train is 55th and5th something or another and its the 5th line or the D or the E - I have no idea. Anyway, it takes you right inside Penn Station.

Or today, you can walk down the Avenue of the Americas,. go down, wonder inside the Rockefeller concourse with signs telling you the subway is to the left and the right when it is really straight ahead. The take the subway to the right, any train, up two stops. Then get out, walk around, this time it was past a bad of people doing some dancing, music concert inside the station so there was a large crowd to go around. Then walk down to the PATH station, then go inside the Manhattan Mall, take an escalator up one flight, walk across the mall, go out a side door, turn right, and at the end of the block cross the street to PENN Station.

So I have to ask, is there no way, in the winter, or during a rainy day, to get from Radio City Music Hall to Penn Station and stay indoors or underground?
