Cingular - a bill

Posted by Jim on May 5, 2006

HAHA - this month’s bill from the fucking clowns shows late charges of 21.83

Recapping for the new readers -

  1. $400 for a phone I recieved as part of an insurance replacement. I sent back the old phone, broken and not working. It’s value - broken $0 - working $20-$25 on eBay. say they did not get it, so I am responsible. It was shipped back with their packing materials and labels. They will not accept an equivilant, since as they put it “If the IEIN does not match we do not want it” - funny from an outfit that ships out refurb units and says we as customers have to accept it.
  2. $400 again for the second line
  3. $300 for one of the 8, yes eight, RMA’s they issued me. Here they say they sent me a Motorola MPX-200. I did noit get it. They were asked to contact their carrier. They said, funny and hard to believe, that I needed to contact their shipper and start an investigation. They do not understand how the world works, or rather do not. They just want to try and charge over full price for a discontinued model phone and hope some sucker pays the bill.
  4. $300 for a second MPX-200 on the 2nd line

I like the attitude - You did not send us back a broken MPX-200, so we will charge you full price for a MPX-220 that you are intitled to because you paid for insurance every month on your service plan. And then, you did not recieve 2 refurbished MPX-220’s we sent you, so we will charge you full price. The only thing consistent is their stupidity and hopes of robbing one of their customers.

I especially like that if I went and got them a working MPX-200 and sent it in, they would not accept it. Does the IEIN really matter that much, as long as it is a working AT&T locked MPX-200? Heck I was sending them broken phones. Maybe they should have insisted on registered return or returns via FedEx
