Sunday airport follies
Posted by Jim on April 30, 2006
I learned how to travel from the US Navy before in 1983 and from many trips with my Dad in the 1970’s - get to the airport, ship, train, bus terminal early. Then find something to read, sleep on, eat, drink there. But a few people did not have the benefit of these pearls, so:
To the lady with the white jacket, no socks, white sneakers, blue jeans and frazzled look on your face - spend less time the night before you flight sucking some guys dick and set your alarm clock a little early. Then the rest of us will not have to put up with the sheer nonsense of you walking to self check in, first class check in, then ducking underneath the ropes to cut in line in front of me. At that point I was considering getting out my camera and taking your picture to post it here with the capture “Do you know this stupid bitch?”
To the lady mouthing off to the counter service person working the America West / US Airways line in Philadelphia airport on Sunday April 30, 2006 at 6:25 AM - Lady, shut the fuck up. No one cares if you have a dividend card number or a shit load of miles. You might notice that I travel a lot, didn’t yell at any one, and did not have to ask for anyone names who worked here today. I just stood quiet, waited my turn and said hello and good morning. If I had my camera out this picture would have been entitled “Do you know this annoying yen ta?”
To the lady standing at security getting secondary scanned at Terminal B in the Philadelphia International Airport on Sunday April 30, 2006 at 6:30AM - lady, shut the fuck up. No one cares that this never happens to your husband. 2 lessons for you - 1 your husband is probably not as bitchy as you mouthing off about why do I need to take off my shoes, and 2 - I hope you enjoy the full body probing they give you in the back room, Lord only knows you need it.
Well, I am at the gate waiting for my plane - and as always the first, constant and final words that go through my mind are Anna, Brighid, Eilis and Granuaile over and over and over again. So in case something happens, my last thoughts will be of something wonderful.
