Monday - San Diego

I am in San Diego this week for the MMS 2006. My flight out was rough. bad weather in Philadelphia. As I walked around before boarding, I mentioned to one of the electric car drivers that I am walking to fast or the terminal is to small. We discussed the weather and he pointed to the blinking lights outside for storm status. And explained the bad weather and your not moving colors. I went back to the gate and was assured we were elaving on time.
And we did, left the terminal at 7:30 right on time.
And sat on the ground for 2 solid hours before taking off.
Whoever came up with this bullshit rule to make this count as on time? I did not get on my way. I was stuck in Philadelphia. What difference did it make if I sat in a big roomy terminal gate chair, or buckled in my seat, head on the glass watching the rain and thunder and lightning?
San Diego was lovely, and I tried to grab a much needed haircut. But after going to three salons I gave up. No chance of a cut or a cut with highlights at any price.
We had an evening cocktail welcome reception.’
The OMNI is very nice. No Marriott reward points, but its a nice hotel. My bad for not booking the Marriott Marina San Diego earlier to reserve my room.
But on the wierd side, during turn down service, the maid put on the room radio to a classical music station broadcasting out of Tijuana, Mexico. I was playing it on TS as we got a laugh out of “thats a nice familiar piece of classical music” and then cinco, cinco, ciete, broadcastad de Mexico and so on all in Spanish.
Its funny since I have never had turndown put on a radio.
