The Tree - part I
The big tree in the front yard is about 60 feet tall and sits over a dogwood. It fills the gutters with sap, the yard with cones and needles and makes a large patch of grass almost dead. The kitchen window is dark and nothing grows underneath that window.
Rick wanted to take the tree down last September and my wife agreed. I said no way. A big snow storm a few weeks ago took down a few branches and broke a few leaving them hanging. I called Rick to come clean things up, and he still wanted to take the tree down. This time I agreed, and the tree removal project started.
How much to remove a 60 foot tree? $3000.00
WHAT? Well $700 to take the tree down, $200 for stump removal and clean up, a new dogwood on the other side of the lawn to balance out the the one dogwood now alone without a tree buddy, shrubery under the kitchen bay window to match the dining room bay window instead of the patch of bare dirt, and new sod were the tree used to be.
It’s all part of the tree removal project - and wether she denies it or not, this is the total cost because I know she will do the above and not leave a bright exposed patch of nothing in front of our house.
