EVE Online Tuesday Day 0003
Okay first a few stats. I ended today with 1,500,000 ISK Then went and after a 2AM trip to Walgreens, spent some 600K on skills. ll the cheap starter skills, some i do not know if I will need, some I do need. But as i bought 1 I trained it, and then bought another - this way they all got entered into my training log and did not take up any space. Agian, props to the skill training system in EVE Onlie. Spend even a few seconds training and the skill goes up a point or more. Granted you might be at 0001 out of 8000 to get another level of skill, but at least you can see progress and stop and start one skill or another at any time.
My goal tomorrow is t finally buy that Gallente Iteron Mark II Industrial ship. Slow and only 1 place for a laser and no drones. But huge cargo capacity. Perfect for mining huge amounts and bringing them back to station.
And bringing stuff back to station is what I tried last night with Greg Tanner. He took posession of the ore I had gather the other night, and while I sat in my chair hacking and eating my dinner and yes, falling asleep in my chair, he found a nice way for us to increase our yield. So I will continue to mine in the Hatakani system, a nice safe 0.9 system, a hold on the ore on station. Then when he is around, we will transfer it three jumps down to Haatomo IV - Moon 3 - Caldari Navy Assembly Plant. Here the refining of the ore with his bonuses gives a whopping 41% additional return ather then my refining it directly. Now I could gather in Haatomo myself, but since the Iteron only has one high power slot, it can only handle one lminig laser, or a single weapon. And with no drones, it needs that laser to mine. A nice example of the decisions on what ships to get and how to equip them for the right job.
And BTW, that 1,500,000 ISK included buying the rather expensive Gallente Industrial skill. My next proression will also be for a cruiser. this will get me out of the frigate line, bypass destroyers, and give me a chance to get into a cruiser with 600 cargo space. Enough to do some mining in rougher areas and defend myself. Sounds like a nice plan.
And on the why get out of the frigate side of things? I tried a combat mission or two last night. All were cake till I ran out of ammo for one of the two guns on the frigate. And since the frigate only carries two guns, it means no mining while rigged for combat. How to get more high power slots and gunpoints? Go up to a bigger ship. How do you do that? Get the ISK to buy the skills, get the ISK to buy the ship, and then repeat for the equipment to put on it.
