EVE Online Sunday

I started playing EVE Online today - the family has left for the week and all the windows are being replaced - good timing. House exposed, dust and debris and no kids around. Better for the workers and my mental health all around.

So I made a Gallente actually an Intaki bloodline of the Gallente race. She is a ship commander by profession. The turorial went well once I got rid of the tutorial crap gun. In the hands of someone with a gunners skill it may have killed the auto tutorial pirates, but with my skill, regardless of range, I was hitting for 0.0 and 0.1 — not good by any stance.

The tutorial gives you the funds to upgrade the weapon, but following it step by step so I comment on it, I did as it instructed.

After one day EVE Online is exactly what I have said it is all along - a thinking MMO for people who want to show off their intelligence, not just blindly hack and slash spiders ad rats in the same old dungeon. It is stedy paced, but again I will hold off by review till I have more stick time.

So at the end of day I have 300,000 ISK, am on my second frigate (ship #3 counting the training ship), the Imicus, a Gallente class frigate. And I am already planning my next upgrade to a cruiser in the 3,5M ISK range including learning to operate the thing. My focus is on cargo capactiy and still operating a combat capable ship. Although I took my gun off and am wielding dual mining lasers, I can still go on combat missions and the spy zone when I want - variety is the spice of life.
