Birthday books - YES!

My mother in law got me a great stack of books for my birthday - WOOT! So I am set for my reading for a while. Should be interesting - a virtually huge stack of paper has just landed on my reading schedule :)

  • A Game of Thrones: A Song of Ice and Fire, Book I
  • A Clash of Kings: A Song of Ice and Fire, Book II
  • A Storm of Swords: A Song of Ice and Fire, Book III
    • Based upon recommendations here and that Pugilist does not like him, George R.R. Martin
  • Hidden Empire: The Saga of Seven Suns, Book 1
  • A Forest of Stars: The Saga of Seven Suns, Book 2
  • Horizon Storms: The Saga of Seven Suns, Book 3
    • Kevin J. Anderson - hey my rule is if the publisher is willing to put out multiple books in a series it has to be good. The danger of new authors and one hit wonders I avoid this way. Of course that same thinking got me reading the last two books in The Dark Tower series so it has its drawbacks.
But apparently this guy helped Frank Herbert write DUNE in some way - anyone ‘in the know’ on that?
  • Prey
    • I never heard of Michael Crichton till I read a book of his over the summer and released I’ve read and seen alot of his books and the movies based on them.
  • Eragon
  • Eldest, Volume 1
  • Eldest, Volume 2
    • Never heard of these, but the jacket information describes an interesting series about dragon riders from Christopher Paolini
