1 in 2800 smart or SAT flawed
107 out of 300,000 score 2400
So 1 in 2803 who took the exam, what does this mean for High School students in general? Well, we would need to know how many take the SAT out of the total number of students, then up the odds. SO lets say 1 out of 3 students takes the SAT. Then the odds of a perfect score up to 1 in 8,500. This is statistics at its worst, since we cannot really make this leap of faith without having students who did not take the test take the SAT as a sample population to determine the general population. But since 300,000 students actually took the exam, and gave us the 1 in 2800 number, thats a pretty good population sample, up to 3,000,000 high school students, where the error rate still continues to produce a minor score adjustment. Ahh statistics, a subject that can be argued all day long, have nothing accomplished, produce many varied results, useable to everyone, and none of them 100% accurate.
