Super Saturday Dad
Saturday - take the kids to grab breakfast - the little one wants waffles. Everyone was late, so we hit Burger King for breakfast. So like my earlier post - for breakfast they are dirt cheap. I get my usual, a waffles combo and a milk for $4.75. So off to the doctor’s office. Oldest is waiting her turn, little one and I are in the hallway and going up and down the stairs playing hide and go seek, explorers, and with the little toys I brought for her in my pocket. We had to wait 90 minutes, but it was fun.
Taco Bell on the way home - this time the oldest decides to tick me off with her vegetarian nonsense, and wants an order of nachos with no beef. Argggh - I am not a fan of special orders at fast food restaurants. If you want a special order go inside or better yet, go to a diner. So I order her nachos then she complains that it has sour cream, and that she doesn’t eat sour cream, and never liked sour cream. I remind her that for every party, event, and family movie time she takes a container of Breakstone’s sour cream, puts it in a bowl, adds onion soup mix, and eats it with chips. Apparently that doesn’t count.
The kids are on the swings for an hour, come inside and play. I tell them to get ready, and take them for a walk, the little one on her big wheel type bike that Jason got her. She has a great time, the older one got kicked off of pushing the handle duty for picking on the little one too much. But we had gone far. From our driveway, to the house next door. I can understand she had a reason to be so upset after such a long 100′ distance. That or she is having her period. I’ll write about it here to embarrass her.
So after the walk, I tell them to hop in the truck, and off we go to 7-11 to grab a slurpee. Little one gets Sponge Bob pineapple (which smelled nice to me), older one strawberry. Driving home, little one wants to trade, older one doesn’t, older one gets told to trade anyway.
In the kitchen, what is in the sink? The older one threw the slurpee away. AGGGGHHHHHH. That is money down the drain, she did not offer it to anyone, her mom was pissed, she back talked, gave the attitude look and voice, and got grounded for 2 weeks. A parent of a teenage girl - what did I do to deserve such torture???!!!???
