A rather sad story of bloggers who think their tool of choice makes their voices heard better. Be sure to check out this sad story.
While its sad that anyone gets hurt or worse, the people responsible should stand up for their statements. A reporter is in the business of words have meaning - and that sword must be two-edged and cut both ways. So to cry resignation over a blog is for news.com.com to throw out buzz word ad tech terms to hype a basic story = reporter spoke wrong, readers and listerners complained to management, management held reporter liable for their actions.
The story could just as easily said 1990 and email, 1980 and letters, 1950 and telegrams. The message is the same - people don’t like idiot reporters who think reporting the news means giving people your own political agenda. And if it did, then you would be a reporter at FOX News with a slant to the right, or a reporter for ABC, NPR or CNN with a huge slant to the left.
Thats why its good to listen to the BBC World hour, and european and asian news services (in English) and compare the story when seen from our own news agencies to those outside, and get a balanced picture.
