I have a Linksys router & wireless access point. Fancy name for a box I plug into AC, connect to the cable modem, and it works as a wireless hub and a 4 pot hub. Anna, the XBOX and my PC’s are connected to it. I run my laptop, my second laptop and old third laptop for labs on the wireless. When I put a new PC in one of the kids upstairs bedrooms, I used a Linksys USB wireless device. Small little box with a velcro strip for mounting. Anyway the thing works great…for 4 minutes. Then it drops connections. I have checked the boards, and everything is set properly. The big one being power management is off. Its a desktop, and everything is set to off. So after a few weeks of having a 3 year old yell at me that her computer skips and that is why I have to get up from my chair while see goes to Playhouse Disney for the next 2 hours, I went and picked up a new wireless card. This time, just to test it, a Linksys PCI. It works like a charm, is solid and has needed no resets. So people walking past my desk on Friday saw the boxes from CompUSA. Linksys wireless, and a new hub in case the card issue persisted. 3 of them all reported the same issue: Linksys hub and Linksys USB wireless equals issues. Well the hub is getting returned to CompUSA since I didn’t need it and I only picked it up as an in-case I needed it, expecting to return it. The USB - off to EBay.
